What's JSTS 2016

JSTS (Japan Seminar on Technology for Sustainability) is an international seminar dedicated for students. The aim of JSTS 2016 is to provide a general forum for enhancing interdisciplinary interactions, dialogue, and collaboration among students. The seminar also provides an opportunity to communicate with students from around the world and makes them aware of the differences between different countries. Previous seminars were held in various prefectures. In 2015, the seminar was held in Hachinohe, Aomori. The content was a workshop to solve the problems caused by the National disaster (earthquake) in 3.11. In 2016, the seminar’s main theme is “Technology to carry the future earth on”. A workshop about technology of Japan and technology transfer will be held. After JSTS 2016, the participants will attend ISTS 2016. ISTS 2016 (International Symposium on Technology for Sustainability) is an unique symposium held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia October 4–12. The symposium will also have a workshop to solve the problems of a village around Yogyakarta. JSTS 2016 and ISTS 2016, is co-organised by the International Student Organizing Committee (ISOC) consisting of students from the National Institute of Technology Japan and Vocational College Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia.
